Description

This 4 week session will function like an open studio class! Bring your own ideas and projects to life under Karin’s guidance and expertise. Students are welcome to do both hand-building techniques as well as wheel work. Please note some pottery experience is required.

Thursdays 1-4 pm 

All glazes and firings are included. Each participant will receive one half-block of clay (additional clay available for purchase).

Karin Pavey

Karin was born and grew up in Toronto. She began her ceramic studies in Sweden and is a graduate of both Sheridan College and the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design where she received a BFA. She was a ceramic instructor for many years at the Gardiner Museum.  In addition, she has taught at Sheridan College, the ROM and the Toronto District School Board. She currently works in her Toronto west end studio and teaches part time. Karin is an established and respected Canadian potter whose colourful tableware has been exhibited in North America and Europe.  She has been the recipient of many awards and honours, including grants from the Ontario Arts Council, and her work has been showcased extensively in both public and private collections.  Karin travels frequently to Europe, where she continues to draw inspiration for her work.
