Description

In this class we will explore different hand building techniques to create your very own pottery pieces from scratch! Students will be shown how to hand build a cup/mug using pinch slab techniques and some textures. Other projects include a simple vase and plate. There will also be opportunity for students to try wheel-work. Demos will be shown throughout the course but students may make their own variations. Those with prior experience in the medium are encouraged to work at their own pace and bring in their own project ideas. After the first firing in the studio kiln, you will glaze your pieces, which will be fired once more for a colourful and professional looking result.

Mondays 2:00-4:30 pm

All glazes and firings are included. Each participant will receive one half-block of clay to use for the 7 weeks (additional clay available to purchase for $20).
