Description
This is a small class designed for those totally new to pottery or artists’ who would like to further develop their skills. Mozhgan will work with each individual on their desired projects. Hand building techniques as well as working on the wheel will be explored. After firing in the studio kiln, you will glaze your pieces, which will be fired once more for a colourful and professional looking result.
Clay will be available at $33 / block (includes glazes and firings)

Mozhgan Abbas
Mozhgan Abassi is a visual artist who holds a Masters Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from Islamic Azad University in Tehran and a Bachelor’s Degree in Craft and Design from Sureh University in Tehran, Iran. Mozhgan specializes in pottery but also works in wire and jewelery making. Mozhgan has worked as an arts educator in schools and has delivered many private art classes for students of all ages in a variety of mediums. She has worked as a Conservator in historical sites in Iran and Turkey. Mozhgan has received multiple Ontario and Canadian Arts Council grants for her larger pottery and mixed media projects and, recently, has exhibited her ceramic art at Toronto’s Gardiner Museum. Mozhgan also creates Persian Miniatures (paintings inspired by traditional stories from Iran) and, as a jeweler, Mozhgan has worked with glass, ceramics, metal wire and stone.
