Have you always wanted to explore portrait and figurative painting? Marina will inspire you to look at portraiture in a totally new way! In this series of classes you will learn some of the amazing painting techniques that will expand your vision and help you to translate your ideas into unique figurative paintings. During this time you will develop your painting skills, learn to set the mood for your portraits as well as work with colour and composition. The main painting medium for this course is acrylic paint. However, you’ll be encouraged to try a variety of materials as you explore new techniques and find your artistic voice.

Marina Nazarova

Marina Nazarova is a visual artist and illustrator based in Brazil & Toronto. She holds a BFA in Painting from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver BC. The majority of Marina’s work revolves around people and spaces; as she draws her inspirations from everyday life and found images. In her paintings she uses oils, acrylics, and watercolour. She has worked with Artbarn School on the Eglinton Junior Public School Tangram mural project. She has also worked on murals for art fairs, commercial spaces and StreetARToronto projects.
