Description
This workshop offers a practical introduction to colour theory focused on essential concepts used in painting. The workshop will cover the basics of colour relationships, colour temperature, value, and simple colour mixing strategies. Through short demonstrations and guided exercises, students will learn how to better control colour harmony, create contrast, and avoid common colour-mixing mistakes.
Paint Colours- Feel free to bring other colours that you already have.
- Reds: Cadmium Red medium hue/ Quinacridone Magenta or Alizarin crimson
- Yellows: Cadmium Yellow medium hue /Hansa, or Cadmium Yellow light hue or Lemon Yellow
- Blues: Ultramarine/ Cobalt/ Phthalo
- Titanium White
- Burnt Umber
Other Supplies
- Palette: Smooth surface OR a palette pad
- Palette Knife
- Brushes
- Canvas pads or mixed media pad
- Pencils and drawing pad for notes

Leila Refahi is an experienced art teacher and researcher with a demonstrated history of working in Visual Art. She works with painting, installation, and digital media to create participatory art experiences. Her work mainly focuses on environmental issues, Climate justice, and endangered animals.
