March ArtBreak 2019 – Japan . . . from Hokusai to Pokemon
For Kids 4-12 yrs

Class Description

Japanese Pop culture has influenced the entire world of art and design. Kids will be inspired by the artists and techniques behind Pokemon and anime, Kusama’s dots and the amazing prints of Hokusai. Samurai and kokeshi figures will also be created.

Full day – 10:00 am – 3:00 pm 

Half day mornings – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm 

Half day afternoons – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm 

There will also be a short snack break in the morning and afternoon. Full day campers must bring a lunch, snack, and water bottle. Half day campers must bring a snack and water bottle.

Your Instructor

Marika Kamaras-Garland (B.A. ECE)

Marika has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University’s Early Childhood Studies program. She is an artist who primarily works with watercolours and inks, and loves sharing her passion for the visual arts with her students. She has a wealth of experience teaching art classes for children at the ROM and JCC and strives to allow each student to explore their own creative narrative.
