Come to the country for some fabulous autumn inspiration! For the first time Artbarn is partnering with a wonderful farm gallery near Clarksburg as a gorgeous venue for a workshop. Le Farm Gallery is owned by artist Wendy McLeod and features many of her lovely milk paint paintings and amazing wood bowls created by Randy McLeod. In a one-day workshop, Barbara Hotson will share her passion for the medium of watercolour with everyone – any age, any stage, any level of artistic ability. In this workshop students will learn layering techniques, practicing lost and found edges and making colours sing. Lots of laughter too as you help each other enjoy the magic of letting go and letting the paint dance on the paper.

For this special workshop we will be providing a catered lunch and materials. Since Clarksburg is about 2.5 hours from Toronto we will provide information about local B & B’s and activities in the area.

Le Farm Gallery is located at #828351, Grey Road 4o just west of Hwy.26. Join us for an arty weekend getaway to this beautiful countryside!

Barbara Hotson

Barbara Hotson (Honours BA, MA) has been teaching watercolour at Artbarn School since 2006. She is a visual artist endlessly challenged and intrigued by the interaction of water, pigment and paper. According to her it is the unpredictability of the medium of watercolour that keeps her hooked! She spends time thinking, planning and drawing a piece; then has to let go of control as she paints. The suspended particles of pigment in the water create a blend all their own on the paper. She feels as if she is merely the facilitator. Barbara is inspired by the landscape near her farm near Thornbury. She is exhibiting on the Autumn Leaves Studio Tour October 4, 5 & 6, 2019. You can visit her Etsy shop here.
